The 8 Questions
Every financial security and investment representative has a method to find out more about his or her clients. Mine are these eight questions, to which I only want seven answers.
- If we’re meeting three to five years from now, what would have had to happen in the preceding three to five years for you to say you had had three to five successful, productive years?
- What is the most important thing to you in your life?
- What do you want to learn next in life?
- If something had happened to you last night, how would you want to be remembered today?
- What was the best decision you ever made?
- What was the worst decision you ever made?
- Explain to me in 40 words or less your financial security plan or investment philosophy? (If you can’t answer this, how can the institution currently handling your money?)
- How much a month is your future worth? (No answer required in the first meeting)
